Ministerial Ordination – Certificate In Bible Theology
One of the most valuable ministries in the local church is that of a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To ready a person for ordination, this course outlines an intentional process that covers four critical areas in a candidate’s spiritual life:
1) Biblical Foundation to Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; 2) Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Congregation;
3) Relational Connection; and, 4) the Tough Side of Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A description of the four phases is as follows:
Part 1: Biblical Foundation To Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
The person who desires to be a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ must know aspects of the Bible that are commensurate with an ordained position. A working knowledge of the qualifications of a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, understanding of church government, and a familiarity with the doctrine of church discipline are all parts of this course.
Part 2: Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ And The Congregation
In order to effectively serve a congregation, a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be wholly committed to the church’s vision, the congregation, the presbytery, and the senior pastor. This commitment goes beyond words or spontaneous emotional reactions. Time must be used as one of the barometers to test the sincerity of the candidate’s love and dedication to the Lord’s house and His people.
Part 3: Relational Connection
To be effective as a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, one has to be relationally connected to the local church, existing presbytery (body of Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ), leaders, and staff personnel. Informal social times will be created to allow the Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (also termed pastors) time to connect relationally with the candidates, and they in-turn, with the critical leaders of the local church.
Part 4: The Tough Side of Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
To serve the church, a Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ needs to have a strong life of prayer, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, a governmental understanding of church life, and the ability to make tough decisions that safeguard the congregation and the organizational side of the ministry.
This dimension of the training is aimed at sharpening the spiritual senses of the potential Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that he/she becomes an even greater asset to the spiritual life of the local church. The Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ must also know how to rule, make decisions that positively impact the overall congregation, and the direction of the church. Many case studies will be explored in order to assist the potential Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in thinking from a governmental perspective rather than a congregant’s viewpoint.
